Whole Milk Powder, Food Grade
Full Cream Milk Powder,
which
ist also known as Whole Milk Powder,
is produced from pure, natural fresh
cow´s milk. After receipt of the milk at the dairy plant,
the liquid whole milk is pasteurised, standardised to the
required level of milkfat, evaporated into a concentrate and
then spray dried into a powder form.
Powdered milk is frequently used in the manufacture of infant
formula,confectionary
such as chokolade and cand, and in recipes for baked
goods where adding liquid milk would render the product too
thin. Powdered milk is also widely used in various sweets.
Powdered milk is also a common item in UN
food aid supplies, fall
out
shelters,warehouses, and wherever fresh milk is not a
viable option. It is widely used in many developing countries
because of reduced transport and storage costs (reduced bulk and
weight, no refrigerated vehicles). Like other dry foods, it is
considered nonperishable, and is favored by survivalist,
and others requiring nonperishable, easy-to-prepare food.
